MSC Yacht Club

MSC Yacht Club

For our first MSC cruise, we decided to try out the Yacht Club. We booked an interior YC room on the SeaScape out of Galveston. I had done a lot of research on YC compared to the Retreat, or NCL's Haven and overwhelmingly people said YC was the best.

I can now see why. It was an amazing week. From butlers wearing long tailed jackets with white gloves, to the food, service and the ship itself was all top notch. I enjoyed spending time in the large YC Lounge on deck 16. Every morning I would go in with my laptop to get some work done and by the time I sat down, the staff knew my coffee order after the 2nd day and brought it over without asking. The food at the small pool buffet on deck 20 was good. They had salad options, a carvery wtih a different meat every day, and then nice meat/fish/sides that changed daily. One day they even had filet mignon's as an option.

Food in the dining room was just as good or better than Coastal Kitchen on RCL. We ate dinner every night there but went to the regular buffet a few times. While we did go on port days mostly, it never felt that crowded although people were complaining that it can be a madhouse on sea days. Pizza was definitely way better than on RCL.

The ship is laid out much differently than what I am used to on RCL with a large/tall promenade deck where most of the shops/food/etc.. are. With MSC, everything was spread out around 4 different decks and the tall/open spaces were much less but it worked out nicely.

Our interior room was a handicap room so it had a large walk in shower and door. But we didn't spent a lot of time in there compared to the lounge or the rest of the ship. Overall, it was a great experience, and now I am spoiled. For the price I would totally do this again.
